Last minute history - Act 1 by katszp Last minute history - Act 1 by katszp
Nea Sforararu is az upholsterer in the old-town. He works in this little workshop for 40 years. First the workshop was owned by a communist state company, now he owns it, and works there with his son.

How can you remind him? It's really easy: his name comes from the word "sfoara" which means rope and it's strongly related to his occupation.

The one of the few who still feels a call for his profession.

( a bit different from what I usually post
here is a serie about old-new Bucharest )

Thanks for taking the time to give us the story behind the photo. It really helps. I was surprised to see that this was digital, as it does feel like film – the grain and the square crop help with that. I like how the owner's pose mirrors that of the figure behind him (and I can't for the life of me figure out if that's a cardboard cut-out or a real person), and his expression.

If I were to change one thing, I'd consider cropping in a little more from the bottom right. It would keep enough of the window to keep the context, but would help concentrate the attention on the figures.

Well done!

Thank you really much for this exhaustive comment. I'd like to make an impression of what people think about my photos and espessialy about the ones with a story behind them.

It is really hard on DA to get a comprehensive idea or critique about ones artwork and it is delightfull that you spared your time to express these ideas.

I thank you!
